PH II Speculation

I don't think they'll call it PHB2. Maybe they'll release tomes.

Tome of Psionics - a book all about the Psionic power source. Think 4e Psionics Handbook, with classes, power effects (psionic powers and all that), races, monsters, fluff, all the works. Also, how it interacts with other power sources.

Tome of Tech - a book all about technological stuff as a power source. Artificers, cyberwarriors (with a more appropriate name) and the like.

They could become the new splatbooks, introducing many new power sources.

Psionics for sure.

Other candidates I think would be Incarnum, Shadow, Blood and Pact.

I think you will find that Artificers will continue to be unique.

They've already stated that the Rogue is being turned into a Martial class. More specifically, it will be considered a "Striker". It's a mobile class that can cause a lot of damage.

I agree that psioincs will most likely be in PHB II, but we already have a 4th edition martial art book coming out next year I hear.

Yes, but seeing as how this is info translated back from another language, I bet the 2008 book isn't about "martial art" but instead "Martial Powers" Fighter/Warlord/Rogue options.

You knew this topic had to occur sooner of later :) .
I think ki/chi would be an interesting alternative power source. Imagine monks getting a bit of flexibility, wuxia dudes mixed in with Iron Fist guys. Ouch.

Howndawg

I do quite like the idea of regular Core++ books to include new power sources and flesh out old ones. Incarnum is soooo close to being a good system - I really hope they overhaul it for 4e.

My guess:

Power Sources
Psionic
Ki
Tinkering/Gadgets

But that leads to the question of what new races we'll see. My guess based on the new powers:

Psi-slant
Elans
Thri-Keen
Half-Giants

Ki-Slant
Kenku (crow men)
Nezumi (rat men)
Rakasta (tiger men)

Tinker-slant
Gnomes
Gremlins
Warforged
