PHB 2 Afflitations - are you using them?

I plan on making use out of them. Only a few of the organizations in there will make it in, and I need to make a few up for my tinkered Wilderlands game, but I do like them as a whole.

Still trying to wrap my head around the example of play, though. Not sure I want so much "off-screen" action in the session as is depicted therein.

Amen to that, it looked like a pile* of extra information / factions to keep track of. I have enough to keep track of as it is.

I need to mull it over a bit more. Probably won't go into my current campaign but the next one I run I may include some features of this.

I haven't used them in game yet, but I'm absolutely going to. I don't think I'll use the "large-scale" stuff very much, but just having a quantifiable way for PCs to enter and advance in a group will be a huge boon. I'll probably link some to prestige classes, making affiliation of rank X a prerequisite for the prestige class.

They seemed set a little to high for me 1/2 level + bonuses, and most benefts start at 11?
looking at it again most affiliaions advance at +1 per mission, so I guess that provides most of the score. Skill and class requirements can add a +2-4 or so. It makes more since than a stright level based advancement. The last game I ran based on a military Org was even more closely tied to levels - but it had checkpoints (knighthood, assistant to a office holder, office holder)

I prolly will continue a more informal system of affiliations, but use the benifits listed as benchmarks for rewards.

I find them very interesting; it's a very "light" system, and one that just gives a framework for the DM to build upon.
And that's precisely why I really liked those guidelines. They will definitely find a place in my games.

Some of you guys mentioned the Planescape factions. If you've got them written up in PHB2 style, please post them. Or if you'd rather, I could email you.

Are you going to use them for stuff like the Knights of the Watch?

One of my Players is the one who bought the PHB2, so I won't have access to it for a while, but when I get something done, I think I'll make a post over in House Rules for it, maybe get some other people to throw up theirs as well.

If anybody else working on them posts in HR I'd love to read that as well.
