"By sacrificing a musical instrument of at least masterwork quality, the Bard gains a +20 circumstance bonus on all Charisma checks and Charisma-based skills, and a +4 DC bonus on all mind-affecting spells or spells of the enchantment schools, for one minute. The bonuses work only when used against creatures with Intelligence score 6 or lower, halflings, or teenagers of any race. This is a supernatural ability."
Heh, this reminds me of a bunch of joke perks I was coming up with when my friend and I were messing about.
"The Solid 'fro."
Requirements: Only available at level one, only available to bard, character must have rhythm (13+ Dex), be hip (13+ charisma) and be the owner at least one righteous pair of shoes (with at least one inch high soles). They must also take a weakness for this to be available (disco fever, chronic bogart, fuzz magnet or any venerial disease).
When making any Perform: Dance checks or Perform: Singing checks the character gets an immediate +3 circumstance bonus. This is a bonus due to looking cool that can only be negated by extremely embarassing circumstances.
When attempting to use any bardic abilities or enchantment spells (such as suggestion), the character gains a +4 circumstance check against humanoids of any kind that can see the 'fro, and +2 against non-humanoid females that can see it due to the sheer sexiness.
The 'fro itself must be at least 6 inches from scalp to tip at any one point, and washed at least once every two days to retain its powers. It gives the character a -1 penalty to dodge AC at all times, due to them constantly having to make sure it takes no damage from mundane attack.
Should the character be caught subject to any spell requiring a reflex save, they must make a second reflex save at the same DC or take direct damage to the fro. They may gain a +2 circumstance check to this second check should they elect to take an extra d6 damage.
Should the damage incurred reduce the 'fro to less than six inches off the scalp or leave a sizable hole, the character will gain -2 to all aforementioned checks.
Damaged 'fros may be restored by a
Wild Growth spell and an immediate trim, wash and protective balsam.
