I love the fact that i can now basically play a chocobo... i remember someone gave me a chocobo figurine a while back, it will be hilarious to take it out and put it on the play mat once i get my Druid up and running :D

And in order to make sense of the PP just remember Black Chocobo's Fly :D

Pfft... I put chocobos in my game long ago. If WOW can do it, I can too.

I am sad, though. I was hoping the class would be more like the Skylord from Book of Exalted Deeds without the exalted bits. I was have a winged mount division in my campaign's elven army called the Wybrenrhibased off them.

:.-(

Wow... that thing does not look very polished.

- Redundant prerequisites: Wwild Shape for the Path in general and for the Utility

- Conflicting fluff concerning the wild shapes: Why does the text first talk about semi-flying wild shapes, then require to change to different shapes for the Attack powers?

- "Unusual" writing for the powers. The Encounter Attack shoot be written as "Melee Touch" with an Effect line denoting that you can fly twice your speed before making the attack. (Compare Powers like Deft Strike.)

I was wondering about this, too, because there aren't anything like touch attacks anymore... Somebody must have been writing a little too much 3.5 material ;)

While I agree it's redundant in the context of the article, if there were an ability that lets you grab a utility power from anywhere, that would be a problem. Better to be redundant in order to prevent future problems than leave something trivial out and cause them later.

For the class it's not redundant because there might be a druid multiclass that does not grant wildshape ability.

It's not just fly your speed before the attack. You can make the attack any time during your flight. It's much like the Shadowhunter Bat's fly by attack. So it's quite a bit different than Deft Strike.

There are numerous melee touch powers. Majority of druid beast form attack powers are melee touch attacks.

Okay, but how do melee touch attacks differ from ordinary melee attacks? It's an attack roll versus a defense. There isn't a touch AC, Fortitude, Reflex or Will, so I can't see what is in that particular distinction... Is touch some sort of keyword introduced in Player's Handbook 2, because I don't remember it from Player's Handbook?

Can someone explain to me is there a significance of a melee touch attack against Reflex? Do they ignore certain modifiers like armor in 3.x?

EDIT: ninja'd

Also does a Sky Hunter gain +10 to perception check when he transforms into a Soaring Falcon?
