Philosophical question: Do games become "obsolete"?

Can't imagine why. That's not a particularly flame-worthy post.

The fact that 3E is "evolved" from earlier editions doesn't mean that other systems weren't also "evolved" from earlier editions.

Maybe because I think that there are one or two posters around that dislike any implied criticism of 3e. Generally this is a sensible and polite board, but when we start getting close to edition wars stuff people can be a bit sensitive.
