[Phoenix Eye] Gustaf Vs. Nekokaburi (Rathan Judging)

<font color="gray">NP, Rathan - I think I confused you anyway</font>

Nekokaburi somersaults backward to avoid the last of Gustaf's probing attacks. He shifts the staff from one hand to the other, the branch spinning with such speed that it moans, the sound eerie within the moonlit swamp. Momentarily, his scarred features are knotted with consideration.

"Destiny, Gustaf-san? What man can know his destiny before his last breath is drawn? All I know is that which I seek - perfection of self. Only through mastering the martial arts can one's soul become a mirror flawless enough to reflect the Ten Thousand Miracles of this world."

"What of you, warrior? What destiny do you believe awaits you?"

"My destiny is why I came to this tournament. My destiny to find my ancestral blade of fire, and to destroy the forces of the dark Edilritter."

The fang assaults the tower; waves away the chi of the horn!

Gustaf defends by assaulting his opponent with a Beast and Stone Spell-Art. He unloads a magic anima blast of stone force, rippling with the rising fury of the wild Displacer Beast.

"So then, your destiny and fate are undecided. I urge you to find a destiny, or be forever lost in the maze of blissful ignorance."

As the blast comes rolling forward, Nekokaburi plants his staff firmly into the ground, and vaults into the air over the rippling blast. Just as his hands leave the staff, it explodes violently with the force of Gustaf's magic. Nekokaburi leaps from one tree to another, balancing precariously on their weak and swaying forms.

<font color="red">"The manticore dances across the clouds; negates the rolling of the tides!"</font>

The sudden shift in power of Gustaf's attacks leaves Nekokaburi momentarily on the defensive, but he quickly regains balance, shifting positions to find an ideal point to launch his next offensive.

"A worthy task, to destroy evil and recover one's ancestral blade. The Iron Abbot, though, would say that these things are deeds, not destiny. Still, who can discern the nature of all things? If your destiny is to recover your ancestral blade, what is to become of you if you fail?"

"I will not fail. Even in death, my kin will take up the cause. My family is bonded to take this blade back, wherever it has worked it's way too. And the same goes for Gustaves steal sword. I am in search of these ancient weapons."

"Questing is for those who do not have faith that all odds can be overcome. I am not one of those, and am in mind body and soul dedicated to the completion of my duties, which are then bound to me as destiny. You may see fate as ever spinning, but I see it as it really is, the rolling of the tide of evil is near, and must be surmounted with all the might of the human race."

Edit: is the style of the day currently Willow, or Pheonix?

Nekokaburi grins fiercely. "An excellent answer, Gustaf-san! I like you. You have the spirit of a warrior."

<font color="gray">Phoenix would be location, Willow would be style of the day, wouldn't it?</font>

The lightning spins through the dungeon as it swiftly kicks the Garden of Worship; negates the stab of the storm!

"Well, then, our respect is mutual, however, my Anima is that of the kings, and it should be more than enough to defeat you!"

Anima Blast: Tone-Flame-Flame-Flame!

Gustaf unleashes a spiralling dragon-like bolt of lightning, spinning hundreds of times around unknown patterns of energy on the battlefield, creating a maze of lightning, which Sanctus uses to disable his opponents movement long enough to attempt a swift kick to his Garden of Worship, while guarded from the effects of his own created Anima Beast.
