Juggernaut De-Powered?

Hey, I know that this isn't specifically on-topic, but I've just recently picked up an issue of X-Men with Juggernaut as a team member and some mention was made that he isn't as powerful as he used to be. Anybody know what the deal is? I always liked the version of Juggernaut that was Hulk-strong and able to take one of Thor's all-out 'unfettered might' hits from Mjolnir without budging (as long as his force-field was up, at any rate.) What's changed with him and how?

Thanks!

As far teams go--I have to go with the classic team from the Claremont/Byrne run in the early 80s. Best X-Men ever.

I don't know enough X-lore to truly participate in this, but I do know one thing --

If Nightcrawler ain't on the team, I ain't interested! ;)

(okay, personal prejudices stemming from the early 80s...)

I like the whole Blue and Gold team thing. Far too many X-Men to only focus on 7. :)

Blue Team
Cyclops (Team Leader)
Phoenix - tp/tk
Rogue - raw offensive power
Nightcralwer - stealth and infiltration, teleporter
Beast - super strength, dexterity and scientist
M - I just like her.
Banshee - cop, powerful attack and flight

Cyclops, whether you love him or hate him, is the heir to the Dream, and a capable leader. Good tactics, good training and experience and a moral compass rarely swayed.

Gold Team
Storm (Team Leader)
Wolverine - He's the best there is what he does, bub.
Colossus - super strength, invulnerable, combo attacks with Wolvie
Kitty Pryde - Good second in command. Makes up for small power with skill.
Lila Cheney - Mass teleporter, loads of contacts, alien tech probably. Great outfits.
Forge - Magic, Science, Weapons, wacky inventions.
Emma Frost- telepath (kept safely away from Scott)

Blue Team:
Phoenix (Rachel Summers at Excalibur power levels and maturity)
Wolverine (with da metal)
Colossus
Rogue
Iceman (age of apocalypse power levels)

Gold Team:
Phoenix (Jean Grey)
Storm
Nightcrawler
Shadowcat
Forge

Leader: Cyclops

Sheer ridiculous power (with some finesse) coupled with some of the smartest and versatile supporting members. Cyclops for leadership simply because of sheer experience and determination. Sorry, but Maggie doesn't play well with others.

Just for the sake of long-lasting favorites, with no other thought behind it:

Cypher (absolutely must continue to use very dated Eighties dialog)
Cannonball
Nightcrawler (happy Erol Flynn persona, not mopey priest persona)
Sunspot (with post-Gideon boosted powers)
Psylocke (original British Betsey, pre-Seige Perilous ninja bimbo)
Shadowcat
Storm (from her punk period)

The leader would be Cypher, which would almost be believeable if Storm wasn't in the group.

Ohhhh....Hard one.

Blue Team:
Cannonball
Collossus
Archangel
Havok
Banshee

These are some hittin mothers.

Gold Team:
Jean
Beast
Forge
Magik
Dazzler :) Because skates and lazer shows can never be bad.

Team Leader: Cyclops
