This is more of a test of my coding style. True randomness is very difficult. Math.random will be one way and for the second I'm using the date expressed in miliseconds. I grab the date, use modulo 20 (well, (seed_value % 20) +1 really) to generate a number from 1-20, wait that many miliseconds, re-grab the date, and modulo 6 to get a d6. I'm almost done. I'll post it here, but frankly it is much, much too big to be used by gamers. I mean, you could and all. But frankly for a web-based app, you'd be better off with a simple applet. This is all J2EE and struts. Sort of like throwing a Balor at a 1st level party.
And what market are you looking in? I seem to recall my recruiting firm looking for Java folks. They are based in Charlotte. But they place people in Richmond, and Raleigh as well. If you're interested. The cost of living is much less than in D.C., which IIRC, is where you live currrently.
Thanks! However my lovely and talented spouse is an energy economist for a DC think tank. We're kind of based here. Nice of you to think of me though.
