Pinpointing an opponent, enough to target a spell?

Somatic components only require 1 free hand.

One of his hands will be touching the targeted creature, so he needs the other one free as well to do the somatic components.

How about a spell like Wail of the Banshee?
"Area: One living creature/level within a 40-ft.-radius spread"
Do you have to target the individuals within the spread.

Also, any chance that someone can either email me (pab_garcia@hotmail.com) or post a more comprehensive description of the Combat Familiar feat? I won't be able to get the PHB II for a few more weeks .

You emit a terrible scream that kills creatures that hear it (except for yourself ). Creatures closest to the point of origin are affected first.

It is not a targeted spell, it is an area effect. Concealment has no effect on this.
