Pirate Borg -- any of you scurvy dogs have it?

I succumbed to the Borg Bug and purchased Pirate Borg a few days ago. It looks like a lot of fun and a bit more playable than Mork Borg. I'm having a bit of difficulty with my group right now as we can't agree on a game. I'm hoping we can all agree to Pirate Borg. I ran a pirate game years ago, Pirates of the Spanish Main, using Savage Worlds, and we had a lot of fun. That campaign revolved around the crew getting revenge on their former captain whose betrayal led to their imprisonment aboard a Spanish hulk for ten years.

I'm not sure what to do for a campaign, yet, but I'm working on an adventure. The crew lands in Tortuga and they need to find some musicians to replace the ones they threw overboard. Back in the day, it wasn't unheard of for ships to have musicians to help stave off boredom and lead the work songs. I'm working on the concept and trying to make it more Borgy with the end of days being nigh and all that.

If they threw the musicians overboard in the Dark Caribbean, there's a real chance the musicians can come back in some form and want revenge on them.

The random island and treasure map generators are great. Maybe just run a few of those while the group is being stalked by enemies and slowly realizing that someone is coming along behind them and killing off their allies and tracking them down.

Also, the Buried in the Bahamas adventure is A+ if you just want a starter adventure to springboard a game.

I agree with Whizbang about Buried in the Bahamas. We're five sessions into the adventure and there is a lot to explore and expand upon. My plan is to move onto Curse of Skeleton Point next.

Good times. I'm going to run the scenario at the next game day hosted by my local gaming store. What I look for in an introductory scenario is an opportunity for the players to learn the rules (easy enough for Pirate Borg), get into the setting, and just have a good time with the scenario. I'm looking to lean into the weirdness a bit here because....why not?

I'll set the scenario on Tortuga and the PCs will need to find three musicians.

Augustine Allix - Missing part of her brain (she sold it for a hit of ash). The part with all the songs she remembers. PCs will need to recover it if they expect Mademoiselle Allix to sing for them.

John Abell - Missing both eyes (figuring out why).

Francis Darling - Dead. Dead. Dead. Raise him and make him keep playing that clarinet.
