He seemed to be speaking to whatever was in his breast pocket.

“Let’s head over and make camp lest we get caught in the dark”


((So there’s an empty camp on this island and harbour on another island? And some smoke trailing up from somewhere else? A map would be handy because I’m a bit lost

As the scouting party returns and describes the local geography, Burn Tokwith sketches a map in the sand with a scrap of wood.

"Perhaps there's something worth a penny or three at the old camp. Maybe we should investigate that, shipmates? Our fine pleasure boat is nearly ready for her maiden sail."

He eyes the smoke coming from Port Nelson with suspicion. Pirates! he thinks to himself. Murderers and scoundrels, the lot, completely unfit to associate with honest businessmen like himself.
