Pirates 2: Dead Man's Chest Trailer!

Am I the only one disappointed to see that they didn't get Keith Richards to play Sparrow's father? Stellan Skarsgaard is fine, but I was really hoping they were gonna get Keith.

Not sure if you're the only one, but yes, I'm glad.

Has Keith Richards ever performed as an actor? Because, frankly, I don't think he'd be good at it.

Cthulhu, Jr.?!
No. He's not an albino.

OTOH: Cthulhu, Sr. - old people get smaller every year, and Papa Cthulhu would've had plenty of years for that.

This commercial strikes me as similar to the commercial for the first movie – a single voice speaking about mysterious things, with a few equally mysterious scenes. Then lots of action and some humor.

I just hope this time we don’t get jipped and they don’t cut out the scene where Bloom, Depp and Knightly are all in their underwear and rubbing coconut oil all over each other. I was so disappointed this cut not included in the first movie and I think the story suffered for its loss.

So Davy Jones – no relation to the guy in the Monkey’s – is after Jack for some deal Jack made. I wonder if this has to do with the Black Pearl. That would explain why is was surrounded by fog, moved so fast and did not sink when it was apparently leaking badly. It was a magic ship Jack got via a deal with Davy Jones.

Different tastes, I guess. I didn't want Keith Richards to be in it because I thought he'd be a good actor. I wanted him to be in it because he's Keith Richards.

Are you referring to the Whateley children, one of whom was an albino? That one was a child of Yog-Sothoth, not Cthulhu.

"Davy Jones' Locker" is an idiom for the grave of sunken sailors. And "Davy Jones" is a sailor's nickname for the devil.

Not sure if that name pops up in the trailer because of that idiom, or because the movie wants to explain where the idiom comes from...

What? What? Whatwhatwhatwhatwhatwhatwhat?!?

Keith isn't in it?!?!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHH!!!!!!

The Squid-Pirate thing is Davey Jones! The plot of the second movie (and I presume the third as well) involves a blood oath that Jack Sparrow made with Jones (who in this is the King of the Dead, and has as his ship the famous ghostship the Flying Dutchman). Davey Jones also has control of a very large sea monster of some kind (I presume the giant kraken/octopus thing). He is played by Bill Nighy, not Geoffrey Rush. Rush is reprising his role as Barbossa, because now he is dead, he belongs to Jones, as does Bootstrap Bill.

Stellan Skarsgard's playing Bootstrap Bill, Orlando Bloom's character's father. Not sure if Keith is no longer in this, though IMDB says he had to pull out of his cameo.

I've heard that keith may yet make it into PoTC III, though Depp has said that they'll be ready for him and just hope he shows up the day they're supposed to film...!
