Disclaimer: This is just for fun but WOTC is active in the film industry and we see a lot of actual pitches and often two ideas are the same or similar so if you think your idea is that good andor original don't post it here, it's the internet after all.

Scott, I'm curious, to whom should one address a pitch?

Survival horror.

A human Fighter, Dwarf Cleric, Elven Wizard, and Halfling Rogue go into a dungeon. They all have their own goals; some might conflict with the party's. They face strange monsters and deadly traps. They wield the amazing magic that D&D has built up over the years.

Theme: The lure of power drives people to do amazing things.

Although a dnd movie is good.. dragonlance better, what i want to see is a big budget Song of Ice and Fire tv eries. It will be a multiyear series, preferable one year per book with roughly 14-26 episodes per year. Maybe a pilot episode done with hedge knight and Sworn sword.

I think the rich story that George RR Martin created for his books lends itself very well to the Sci Fi channel- they did a great job with remake of Battlestar Galacatica. But given the graphic nature of the violence and the themes of blackmail and betrayal.. HBO may be a good venue.

EDIT - Just found this: "
According to a report on Variety.com, the best-selling grown-up fantasy series "A Song of Ice and Fire" has been picked up by HBO for production as a TV series. The article reveals that David Benioff ("Troy") and D.B. Weiss ("Halo") will produce and write the series, save for one episode each season that will be written by Martin himself. Martin is a former TV writer, who I remember for "The Sandkings" episodes of the "Outer Limits".

Here. Just add. . .

Behind the Camera:

Director: Ryuhei Kitamura -- Versus (2000)
Assistant Director: Darius Siwek -- 18 Fingers of Death (2006)
Writer: Stanford Sherman -- Krull (1983)

Main Cast

Tom Selleck: Captain Stanz (City Guard)
Gary Oldman: Hedrik (Common Thief)
Amy Smart: Vivian Cabe (Courtesan, Dark Elf)
Max von Sydow: Ghalen (Leader of the Waerloga, Dark Elf)
Mink Stole: The Autumn Queen (Elf Queen)
Paul Reubens: Torin Cabe (The Queen's War Czar, Elf)

Secondary Cast:

Sean Connery: King Oberon (Elf)*

Format: Live Action

Producer: Hunt Lowry (check his credentials -- the man can grow money)

Effects house: Custom Film Effects and Digital Firepower

Studio: Revolution Studios

Budget: I have no idea what kind of salary we'd be looking at for the actors I name, to say nothing of digital cityscapes and scads of digitally rendered elven soldiers.

Justification: 300 did $210,545,283 in box office returns. Vs. Elves will bring in at least twice that.

I already have a treatment. I'll be keeping that to myself. Because it is that good. You can see the basic framework in the PDF that I linked to, though.

*The good news is that he'll only be around for the film's opening sequence.
