that would be the dark-skinned non-human figure (possibly fiendish, though it is difficult to see for sure). The figure is flat-footed and in the open, so no cover. Since the figures are handling other creatures i will count this as being in combat (though with -2 to hit rather than -4). If the shot misses by 2, it hits the prisoners...

The possible spellcaster is not the closest target and one of his companions would get an AoO if you go for him. And remember, you need to open the door.

And if anyone is planning on getting into combat, it would be best to do so in the actual 1st round and not in the surprise round since that would spoil the shots of those using crossbows/bows

OOC: If Kyran's looking for a missile weapon can use the Bariar's MTWK shortbow and make a partial charge into the room and make a shot. Just charge so that you're not in the line of fire of the people at the door. Next round you can switch to your whip if wanted...

And remember, you need to open the door.

OOC: If that's going to eat up an action, then I suggest that Nock, Jema and Kyran delay to Init 12, then Llyra can open the door on her action (having already cast her spell in the previous round), then everyone starts attacking. That way we don't lose Noch's precious sneak attacks.
