Planet Hulk DVD (Spoilers)

Quantum

First Post
I give an it A. It's a heck of a Hulk story.

In short, the Illuminati, made up of Reed Richards, Doctor Strange, Iron Man, and Namor want to exile the Hulk to another planet where he would ahrm no one. So they trap him on board a space ship and send him to the planet. In his rage the Hulk smashes the controls of the ship malfunction and send him to another planet where he is forced to become a gladiator.

It is based on the Planet Hulk storyline that led up to Worlld War Hulk, with which I hope they also make into an animated feature as well.

However, what you won't see is the fight with the Silver Surfer. In short, there were some complicated legal issues (which I am not able to understand nor explain) which prevented them from using the Silver Surfer so you won't see that fight. Instead they feature a character who's never been animated before. But I'll leave that as a surprise.

The other thing they didn't do is feature the explosion that wiped out the entire planet and killing the love of his life who was also preganat with his child. However, if they develop a World War Hulk animated feature, I do predict that that will be in there.

But I really enjoyed the movie. Especially since it wasn't the old green-skin (HULK SMASH) brute.

I would definately recommend it to Hulk fans. I would alsorecommend it to others who like animated features like this.

I saw a bit of the WWH comic, and wasn't impressed - it had some of the typical re-write of peoples personalities and powers to suit the series. I couldn't believe Dr Strange and Black Bolt being part of the illuminati coming up with this solution, and I really couldn't believe in the ease with which Black Bolt gets dispatched. It sounds as if the DVD didn't use Black Bolt which is a step in the right direction, but I don't envisage seeing it.

Cheers

Planet Hulk is decent.

It follows the hulk story fairly well. and yes, there is no "Silver Savage" (caught in legal stuff from the F Four movie I suspect). The fill-in figure is perfect.

I'm still hoping for a Civil War series. ;)

Don't hold your breath for that one...

Well yeah but still.... I hope to see it happen. :)

A good Spider-man tale would be awesome also.

Maybe even Daredevil's "Born Again" would be good also.
