It was a great series, and every book is worth a read. Still, though, the imagination went into the plot and characters, not the setting. Even then, each book had a completely new set of characters, often only keeping one from the previous book, and what setting there was was completely different in (each book takes place in a different epoch of man).Blacksad said:AFAIK Arthur C. Clarck did a serie of follow-up after 2001 (2031, 2131 or something like that).
Each book, taken by itself, has some small measure of 'setting,' but certainly not enough to set an RPG in it. The series as a whole has no continuous or cohesive setting, however. That's just my observation, anyhow.
