Plastic toy rust monster?

A number of months ago, someone posted here that they had seen some plastic toy "dinosaurs" in a local dime store. Has anyone seen such a thing locally? I'd like to find an online source, or someone to buy a bag for me.

Hmmm, I think I saw the set recently, at Toys R Us, if I recall correctly. However I should mention that the rust monster like creature measures almost 2 inches in size, bigger than most horses in the game!

The name of the set is 'Prehistoric Monsters'.

I have a 5-year-old son, so try these...

Animal Planet Dino Bucket
Animal Planet Jumbo Dino Playset
Animal Planet Reptile Bucket
Animal Planet Sealife Bucket

All of those can also be found at your local Toys 'R' Us store.

Or, check the toys aile of your local grocery store or drug store... Anyplace that you might find "Green Army Men", and you should find small bags of plastic dinosaurs for a dollar or two.

My only complaint with those is that the rules that come with them aren't completely d20 compatible and they are packaged so that the animals are random. I won't mind so much if there is a decent secondary market at my Friendly Local Pet Store or on eBay. At least they won't need painting...

+1 satire point.

I've seen the set that has most of the figures, including the pteronodon, but does not include the rust monster and bulette themselves. I thought the set was originally called "Lords of the Ancient World" or something.

I picked up a clear-front box of cheap plastic prehistoric beasts at Rite-Aid about five years ago because among the various critters was what pretty clearly looked like the bulette mold from ages ago. No rust monster, but oddly enough there was a creature that looked suspiciously like a disenchanter.

I've still got the set at work somewhere. I'll post the name if I can find it.

I had the rust monster and the bulette when I was little. Ironically it was before I started playing D&D, so I had no idea of the significance. By the time I started D&D at 12 years old, the old toys were long gone.
