Player's build is to strong?

Hell, if I were a mortal cursed by visions from a deity, I might despise gods too!

I agree with you the story part is the bigger problem, you can't explain this with rationnality.

Not true. I agree the build is stupid, but the idea that it cannot be explianed rationally is not true. Most any combination of classes can be explained fine by creative people. But just because it can be explained does not mean it should be allowed.

Well even if you could explain it, as you said this very a poor mix...

Yeah but if you read the class the diviner is a follower of god according to the descritpion and the Ur priest is something wicked who hate god, anyway this just doesn't mix very well, you could read the class yourself.

That is a lot of planning to only be third level. How often do you level? It seems he might not get to that for a year or two (if everything was legal which obviously its not because of the evasion). I don't think I"ve ever come across that, but I have come across some unusuall choices for prestige classes. I require my players to explain how they level up (training skills and such) and he's have to have a damn good story for me to allow all of that.

The Divine Oracle 2/ Ur-Priest 2 part is unhealthy as well.

Lol. I see the humor there. That god that gave the character the ability to "see" is not "seeing" very well. ------> Ur-Priests despise all gods.

Obvioustly he just check the stats of the class and doesn't matter of the story and background...

I'm not sure why you're condeming that, however. PrC's give characters cool, flavorful abilities in a structured manner. Some of them have backgrounds and stories pregenerated to help them "fit-in" in a world, but that's always been up to the GM. I tend to see PrC's as a way of expanding a character beyond the core abilities in a structured manner. The background story tends to be optional.

It really depends on your campaign and GM, but that's no reason to condemn those who play in another manner.

Hello,

I dont mind if people have fun to play powergaming if all the player do it, but the DM said that the other player play normal character, this not this kind of campaign if i'm understanding correctly.

I'm just worrying about the balance of the campaign, if all the other character don't go for max optimization, they will be weaker and won't have much fun i think.

You right that prestige class are cool and customize character but you should have restriction and responsability for them. Anyway many people think like you and try to have the most powerful character possible, i guess this me who's wrong but i prefer to don't encourage this. The story is all it matter to me and my players...

My guess is this character would be a disaster to play.

Normally when you come up with an insane build you grok the character and you have a shtick you're going to whip out. This looks like a player that will have no clue what his PC will do, and under play it, and wind up hating it.

It's the very worst kind of min/maxing... the kind that sacrifices the RP for the power and fails to deliver the power.

Suggest he plan out his 3rd level PC all the way to 5th level and wing it from there.
