Player's Guide to Eberron

Just a quick question for those who may be "in the know":

What is the utility and/or value of acquiring this product if you already own the Eberron Campaign Setting and Explorer's Handbook? I'm just trying to gauge what the material differences are going to be in the content.

Given that its not our yet i doubt anyone can give you a really good reply. WotC's preview is here. It seems focused on player knowledge v. GM knowledge. Probablly would be a useful tool in some campaigns.

From what I hear, it will probably expand a bit on the nations not covered in Five Nations, geared towards playing natives.

Also, there are Dragonshard-sized explainations of druidic sects at long last! :D I've been waiting forever for these babies. :] My Greensingers, my preciouses, you have been shivering in naked crunch for so long without appreciable fluff for all this time! But daddy is here to take care of you now, his precious little babies. :) *hughugsnugglesnuggle*

And how can you say no to more of Reynolds' art? I love the depiction of ancient skeletal draconic guardians battling Azm and Thordred, while Sarav screams at Baristi to stop ogling acienct scrolls, as a team of the sorpio-drider, drow spellcaster, and a mummy flank the two... perhaps the cursed remains of the MM3 lich-phylactery-golem has captivated the shifter? His art continues to bring tears to my eyes... *sniffle* I love it!

Conversely, I found the preview of the Frostfell writeup to be disappointing. Bland translations from Frostburn that could fit into any other campaign, and the heedless tossing about of subraces without any explaination besides "it's really cold here"!

But I'm still eager for the Druidic section. It's written by Keith Baker, the Infernal Bovine himself! It can't possibly be bad. :]

The Frostfell section left me pretty cold, too. (sorry, couldn't resist!) That is, until I saw the mention of Levistus. I wouldn't want every archfiend to be converted into a Rakshasa Rajah, but a few here and there is neato. Burying Levistus under the ice of the Frostfell is several levels of awesome! (not nearly as awesome as the 'John Carpenter's "The Thing"'-esque Frostfell location/adventure from the Explorer's Handbook, though...)

Oh yes, more druid information is *always* welcome - although I'm a bit biased. :) The recent Dragonshards on druids were great, but they've left me hungry for more!

**edit**

To actually answer the OP, AFAIK There will be enough setting detail given without giving away a few of the secrets that are plopped down in the middle of the text in the ECS. There may also be a list of things a person from each region knows, as well as with corresponding DCs for Knowledge checks. I may have just dreamt up that last bit, though.
