Player's Guide to Fighters and Barbarians

Dun,

Hopefully soon!

Thunder,

While I don't know much of this book, I can say if you read the other thread regarding the first Player's guide, you can see there's a lot of GOOD crunch and ideas you can use regarding the arcane classes. Plus plenty of good feats. Also new spells that you might enjoy. I think it's the same for the others. I know a little more about Rangers and Rogues, since I worked on that one a little more extensively. Can't say much about however.

Good thing they're only half as big as normal graves then.

I mean, imagine the PCs' backs if it was minotaurs you kept losing ...

Sadly, it's become standard to just place them inside thier HHH and take press on. Then whenever we reach civilization we bury them or get them raised depending on thier wishes.

Who publishes Scared Lands? I've got most Scarred Lands products, but I've never heard of Scared Lands

Well, since our DM has addapted Rappan Athuk into the scarred lands, we think it could definately be renamed the scared lands. Both times we've gone in there we've had a TPK. The first time in level 3 and the second on what I think was level 4. Never try to take down an evil temple when your main fighter [ me :) ] has been feeble minded.

I was going to pick it up at Gen Con (before my Credit Card disaster), it looked pretty great, and like maybe it was what I needed to make Melee Classes the eqyuivalent of spellcasting classes.

No idea if that is actually the case.

I bought it yesterday. I haven't yet given it an in-depth read, but I intend to do so soon. Thus far I can only say that the Cloth Dancing feat is cool.

Well from what I've heard so far TB, it appears pretty sweet. Stuff for building merc units, the War Colleges (for training and fees for using the facilities), plus of course the feats and various other crunchy stuff.

Damn your hide Ni! :) You got it before me!! ;) Okay I will have to ask you what you enjoy when I see you in chat.

Yah... If the server gets back up in time. It's been down for almost eight hours.

I've thus far read through the fighter section of the book, as well as skimmed over the crunchy appendices... I am already having visions of a duelist with a bent and shielded gripped masterwork elven thinblade... :p

I've picked both Player's Guides few days ago. My local shop gets White Wolf/S&S stuff nowdays very quickly, which is really nice.

I haven't have much time to read them, but skimming through I must say book for sorcerers, wizards & bards seems kind of lacking and somehow boring to me. Of course it's bound to have interesting stuff, but nothing that really strikes out immediately.

I also find some things repeated over in too many places, and in too long format.

I like barbarian & fighter book better. Somehow ideas there feel more original and classes actually worthy. I think I will like reading this book more.

Those books kind of give me feeling, they were written some some off-Scarn usability issues in mind. However, this kind of gave me feeling they were lacking in both usuful "crunchy stuff" and "world-related-stuff", and instead there was a lot of "plah, plah-stuff".

Naturally, I must read them throughly before truly evaluating them. These were my first thoughts.

Oh, but Blood Bayou was really good book. (except for those semi-unreadable parts).

Zelda,

Well give it a little time. I'm sure it's different for everyone.

NiT,

Yeah well hopefully now it's back. I do want to discuss the book with you.
