I'm all in favor of solo adventuring. In fact I've always considered the Rogue to be even better suited to solo play than group play. Huge amounts of fun can be had sneaking around, and playing con games with the upper class

A Bard would certainly also be a great choice, it gives you a lot of opportunities to use your charm and wit, that might be overlooked in group games.
You know, I'm actually a bit envious, I would love to do some solo adventuring

But I might get to do it, although as a DM. My girlfriend is thinking about trying D&D, and she has said that she would most like to play a rogue, so I'm considering getting the "Thievery 101: Joining the Watchers" adventure by Wyvern's Claw Design, it's supposed to be pretty good, and is designed specifically for one rogue.
