Playing without a Controller - feasible?

No combat role is essential, but lacking a controller can actually be good as you can have lower numbers of tougher enemies that make fights go faster.

Having a fighter pick up cleave or a ranger have twin strike etc as dual target at wills can help deal with minions. I find lack of a leader the hardest, but fun as the squishy classes are a LOT more conservative.

Hey- watch who you're calling squishy!

My Dwarven Starlock has more HP than anyone in the party except the Dwarven Fighter...and my AC isn't much worse.

Just my $0.02, but I would look at the amount of burst/blast offensive at-wills the rest of the party has. They may not be able to push mobs around, but if they can "tactical nuke'm", I'd say it's a flush.

Granted, I'm DMing/playing around with a party consisting of a Swordmage and a Cleric/Ranger. The SM got tired of Lightning Lasso, and switched it for their burst 1 at-will.

TL;DR: I echo what others have said--it'll just be a strategy change for everyone else.
