Playtest news...

I'm in a 17th level D&D group that's been having a lot of fun with the detour into SWSE that I've been running. Playtesting 4e would be rather nice... and I'm sure there won't be too many playtesters that check out the epic level range, so it'd be useful for WotC, too.

Granted, my warmage would probably have to become a fighter 1/wizard 16, the fighter/barbarian might become just a fighter, the cleric's fighter/scout cohort would become a ranger (which I always think he is anyway, and nag the cleric's player about when we could use a ranger ability) and he'd have to do something about his Vow of Poverty, and I don't know what we'd do with the soulknife...

It's funny. I can't put together a D&D group to save my life right now. Yet I know exactly who would be in my group if I was drawn for a playtest slot.

Here.

Essentially RPGA member selection for playtesting is done. If that's not you, there's still the D&DI route.
So they've done with randomly picking a few RPGA members and now they might add a few randomly picked WotC forum members to that lot?

Hmm, not quite the way of selecting playtesters earlier comments led me to belive they would use. I suppose it's a rather fast one, though. A lot faster than people applying. Then again, random selection is rather... random.

With the RPGA, they have detailed stats on how much DMing each DM has done. So, if a DM has played a *lot* of 3e, that would probably move them towards the top of the list.

Cheers!

Well, phooey. I had my application all thought out, too. I can understand not wanting to wade through 10,000 playtest applications, however. The setting search taught them that much I'll wager.
