Thank you! I think this might be just the solution I've been looking for! :D

I have an iPad and I love it, but I'm a confirmed Mac user.
I am legally blind if I remove my contact lenses, and have to wear reading glasses on top of my contacts, so my eyesight is "sucky" to put it mildly.

I use a program called "Good Reader" for my PDFs. I LOVE the zoom feature. I usually enlarge the text so one column takes up the entire portrait screen. I can read this easily, and with a single finger drag or tap can move down or over.

I do find that for the occasional full-view screens (maps, tables, a few illustrations) I do have to zoom out, but usually that's not a problem... I've found that even with the notoriously fine print in Paizo's adventure path mods, I can get by.

I do a LOT of online reading, but I prefer my iPad for any session lasting more than 15 minutes. And both Kindle and Nook apps are available for the iPad, so you're not going to lose the ebooks you've already invested in.

The best way I've found to read these PDFs is on a laptop turned sideways. On most keyboards the page-up and page-down keys are then conveniently next to the thumb.

Unfortunately, the magazine PDFs are laid-out to look good in an A4 size, so you've really got to have an appropriately sized screen. This is especially true for maps.

The VGA adapter isn't worth purchasing at this time. Read my thread in the Software section.
