Please help me create a character for this weekend!

Adventurer
My friend is DMing this weekend. I have abosultely no interest (read: 0) in creating a character for his game. He was promised this game a while ago so I'll be in it (and I'm sure I'll have fun) but I don't really feel up to actually creating a character for this one-shot. So... I'm asking for your help.

Here's what we can do:

  • 32-point buy GESTALT characters
  • Character will be 10th level
  • Can use any option from Unearthed Arcana except Racial Levels, Paragons and Spellcasting options
  • Can use Flaws to gain more feats at first level (Flaws can come from UA or from Dragon magazine)
  • Can use the PHB, Eberron, Complete Warrior, Complete Arcane, Complete Divine, Complete Adventurer, Races of Destiny, Races of the Wild, Races of Stone and Expanded Psionics Handbook
  • Can use EL races

If I forgot anything, please let me know. Thanks!

why are you playing if you have zero interest in making a character?

Because he was promised the game weeks ago and I said I would play in it. I think the only reason I don't have interest in creating a character is because it's been really hectic at work lately so I don't feel like doing much in the evenings. Like I said, I'll probably have fun during the game, but I'm not very enthused about creating a character for a one-shot.

Hmm, Sorceror 10/Favoured Soul 10? ;)

Although if you did Sorceror/Cleric 4, then at 5th level you could start taking levels in Mystic Theurge (favoured soul doesn't have knowledge: religion as class skill, grr) and gestalt it with say, Paladin.

I'm sure your GM will have a fit ;)

A Warforged Artificer/Fighter would be impressive. Artificers surpass even Clerics in their ability to self-buff. A few of their infusions (spells) only work on Warforged. An example is the 4th-level iron construct, it grants the benefits of iron body, but only to constructs. DR 15/Adamantine is pretty impressive.

I think a few answers on preferences would be useful.

Fighty, spellcasty, thievy, mish-mash?
Race?

Personally, I'd go for a fighting type - don't think it'd be worth the effort twinking out complex spell selections for a one shot game?

Some ideas I think might be interesting:

Ranger/Monk - weird, kinda funky and it'd be really awkward to play without Gestalting. Reigns blows down at colossal speed with 2 weapon combat path and flurry. Can hunt and sneak to boot.

Rogue/Barbarain or Rogue/Fighter - loads of skills, vicious combat ability, what's not to love? Social, trappy or acrobatic?

Sorceror 10/Fighty type 5/Dragon Desciple 5- sorta like a real dragon - spells and fighting. Any of the fighter types would be interesting? Although I'd lean towards Paladin. Perhaps take the draconic heritage feats from CA?

Any of this stuff catch your attention? I wouldn't mind statting one of them up if I have a quiet day tomorrow.

How about going Scout/Psionic Warrior or Psion x5, and then Scout/Elocater x5?

Think using "Hustle" to consistently get Skirmish damage on full-attack. And the Elocater synergizes really well with the Scout's mobility-orientedness. Especially since, if you ever get to Elocater 7, you can go 10 feet as a free action that provokes no AoO...
