Please help me with a build.

Thanks for catching my mistake.

I am also glad that you've admitted that it's not cheesy, because it really isn't. I feel it important for the OP to know this. There are many ways for a DM to counter your ranger build easily, such as throwing out a monster with a will save vs pee in pants ability.
I said he had a little cheese, and in many people's books, Spiked Chain+Improved Trip+Enlarge qualifies.

His Will save isn't great, though the Wizard level helps a bit. You could take Iron Will, I suppose, to help. Using Cleric w/Strength Domain is a good idea as an alternative, but part of the goal was maximum versatility. He already gets some Clerical abilities from his Ranger class, and while a 1st level Wiz isn't going to scare anyone, it opens up the full range of Arcane wands, and to a lesser extent scrolls.

Let's see, his feat total will be...
1 Everyman
1 Human
3 Fighter bonus
3 from levels gained.
2 Wizard (Alertness comes with the Familiar, and Scribe Scroll)
2 Ranger (Tracking and either TWF or Rapidshot)

The build calls for Exotic Weapon, Improved Trip, Combat Expertise (prereq. for Imp. Trip), Power Attack, Wpn Focus and Wpn Spec.

That's 6 out of the 8 electives. He has a couple to play with. Iron Will might fit.

Of course, if you want to cut him down, Tumble works, as does just about any ranged attack.

Yes, I know we could make a deity-duster at these levels if we wanted to lay on the mozzarella, but the DM has to approve it, and without knowing more about the game/campaign/DM style, I tend to go for extensive ability rather than intensive. Sue me.

Still a Fantastic Build though!

Level 9... so 5th level spells? Can you say OMFGWTFISTHATTHING?!
Draconic polymorph.
'Nuff said.

Just to throw some other stuffs out there:
Perfect Summons to screw up summoning.
Stack on Mage Armors, Dragonskins, Luminous Armors and Greater Enlarge Persons on your allies... since they last 9+ hours at 9th level (Spell Enhancer, or something if your days are long).
Flesh to Ice... "Chill the f*** out! I got this."
Polymorph your allies.
Polymorph your familiar.
Polymorph your allies' familiars, animal companions, etc.
Haboob, Solid Fog, Black Tentacles, and Cloudkill to lulz at the horde unable to take advantage of their numbers.
Trollshape because being a Troll is fun. ;)

Just to be weird, and because i'm me. . .

Human
Martial Rogue2/Cleric7
S 14
I 18
W 18 =20
D 12
C 10
Ch 14

Take some extra Int (18), and you get great skills at first level (48; 100@9th). Take Able Learner at first and your extra Int skill points cost only one point to spend. You will be able to max ranks in 3, max cross in 9, and take ten in 10 other skills. Max Diplomacy to change the game when the DM thinks he's winning.
The Rogue also give UMD for 1st level arcane scrolls!

Concentration 13
Diplomacy 15
Spellcraft 13

Decipher Script 9
Gather Info 8
Hide 6
Listen 10
Move silent 6
Search 10
Sense Motive 10
Spot 10
Tumble 7
UMD (scrolls) 12

Plus; one rank in 10 other skills.
And ability bonuses throughout your career will boost all these scores.

Or consider Knowledge Devotion (+13) for extra damage in almost every swing of your career!

And the Martial Rogue (SRD) gives two extra feats to the build, and where you would lose the caster, it could be fun. Take Improved Initiative and get the DM to let you take Quick Reconnoiter from CC, for a +6 to initiative with listen/spot as a FREE ACTION (go first lots). And Evasion at 2nd (Mithral Breastplate; better speed and less noise).

Take Versatile Spellcaster and you will be able to convert any two spells of same level to any spell you know one level higher (very versatile, you can convert 4 1st lvl spls to one 3rd etc. never come home with cantrips).

That build sounds fun to play, and survivable.

Versatile Spellcaster only works for classes that spontaneously cast spells. Clerics, though they can spontaniously cast healing spells, are a prepared spellcasting class.

In addition, you cast a spell of one level higher than the spell slots you sacrifice. You can't trade 4 firsts for a third.

tl;dr: Versatile Spellcaster just doesn't work that way.

I think he's trying to say, two 1sts = one 2nd , repeat two 1sts = one 2nd, then add those two 2nds to get one 3rd.

Not sure that you can cascade it that way though. Have to read the feat.

Thanks for the thumbs-up, RumbleTiger.

Note that the build, as described, was presuming a 40 point build. Not many DMs run that high. The original that I ran was in a game where the DM had people roll their stats in front of him, and my dice were a bit warm that day.

He was also designed to mess with the heads of the other players, to keep them guessing as to what he really was. It was a "monster game" where people played just about anything but normal PC races, and the flavor of the group was decidedly evil. By abusing a Hat of Disguise, I convinced the other players that I was running some kind of multiple-personality shapeshifter. He seemed to be an Orc, except when he was a Dark Elf or a Human, and for combat he'd Enlarge and disguise himself as a Stone Giant.

And as long as nobody knew exactly what he really was, nobody was sure they could take him in a fight, or even the best way to plan for such a fight, and thus my character avoided being robbed, killed and eaten.

The DM loved it, as he loves pitting player v player, and having someone to mess with their minds amused him.

General advice: When you're odd, the odds are with you!

(Translation: DMs hesitate to arbitrarily eliminate colorful and entertaining characters.)
