Hello my name is Dean and I recently used the Dragonkin template to create a charecter but niether me nor my DM know if I can do what I want to do with it!!

I want to make my Dragonkin a Dragon Slayer simple enough right? Well this is where I get confused I am under the rule of a Gold Dragon. I'm lost and dont know what to do because the climax of our campaign is to fight a Red Dragon so either the Dragon Slayer or Dragon Stalker prestige Classes or the optimum choice for the Campaign so would someone Pleease HElp me out Thanks.

Okay, just relax. I'm afraid I don't quite understand what it is you're asking help for. I'm not familiar with the Dragonkin template; which book is it from? Are you perhaps refering to the half-dragon template in the Monster Manual? Are you simply trying to build a half gold-dragon half-human character with the goal of slaying a red dragon and want some advice about the best prestige class to pick? Do you have a copy of the Draconomicon handy? What level is your character?

It's also in the Monsters of Faerun book as well. As Cromm stated though it is a race, not a template. Now, are you wondering what classes you should be to optimize your progression into those prestige classes, or are you not sure if you can be the prestige classes period? A little more info or clarification I believe is needed.

HEre a little more information

Okay here the I used the Dragonkin to develop me character because since we were going to end up fighting a dragon I figured we could the added muscle. Well everything was going fine I mean its only 1st level(well technically 3rd level with level adjustment) and everything is already ready for me to switch it from the Ranger class that I started with to the Dragon Slayer prestige class. But!!! then one of the other players raised an interesting question "If you work for a Dragon can you technically be a Dragon Slayer?" It was as my DM pointed out a good question. He went on to say if I could find someone who could give us a clearcut answer he would be fine with it but I havent been able to find anyone who can give me a clearcut answer please help me!! :(

Unless it specifically SAYS, in the Dragon Slayer PrC description, that the character refuses to work with or associate with ANY dragons, that there would be no reason to impose a restriction like that on the character.

Really, even if it did, I don't see why there would be that restriction.

If Gold and Red dragons are in the habit of sending out trained killers to bump off their foes then those guys would specialize in, well, DRAGON SLAYING. Makes perfect sense to me. Like a mafia don who sends out his kneecappers who know where to hit a human to make it hurt, a dragon could send out some dragon-specialists to take out another dragon.
