please help!! spells to make DC's tougher

Definately.. if they fail the save you were better off just having cast a will based spell to hurt them in the first place, if they make the save then you basically didnt do anything at all as it has no secondary effect.

At least it can hit multiple foes, but it can also hit allies and it is enchantment (compulsion) [mind effecting].

It is pretty crazy overall.

Depends on the situation. With a single foe, I agree. But if you are attacking multiple foes and other allied casters (especially clerics) are present, you boost the efficiency of all will-based spells.

It's more of a team vs. team type spell, devastating if used in a surprise round.

Mind Fog isn't there so that the Enchanter can get his spells through easier. He doesn't need the help.

Mind Fog is there so that the Enchanter can help the cleric, the bard, the ranger, the paladin, the non-Enchantment-focused wizard, etc., get their spells through.

It's called Teamwork, folks! :)

And there are better ways than the 5th level spell Mind Fog to do the "teamwork thing".

......and, really, Patryn: the paladin is casting crucial Will save spells? That would be the multiple in-combat applications of Discern Lies and Zone of Truth, right?

If you say so.

Maybe he's got a scroll and some UMD. The point is, it doesn't matter. Mind Fog is there so that someone who has focused everything in Enchantment (and therefore has the best possible DC) can help teammates who have not slip some Will-based spells past the enemies' defenses.

Mindfog has other uses than the "teamwork" value. For example.. if an enchanter comes across a herd o' monsters you can use a wall of force to wall them off into one corner of the room/corridor. Cast it so the wall of force doesn't go all the way to the top - cast mind fog through the opening at the top (fly) and watch it drift down to them.. then show them a premade symbol (since WoF is invisible)... persuasion let's say. Those who make both their mindfog and symbol save will have to contend with those who didn't.. You'll rack up minions in no time..

Complete Divine also has a greater bestow curse that is good.

Aside from that, I think my next wiz/sorc will speciallize in spells with no save, like Irrisistable dance. After finding a ring of wish with one charge, I found that and fell in love.

There was a quickened spell in forgotten realms that let you cast a second spell the same round adding 4 to the DC.

The spell you are referring to, spell enhancer, changed for 3.5e to add 2 to your caster level instead of increasing the DC. This was part of the across the board DC nerf.

Teammates that are using actions to cast (usually low level) spells they are not normally good at are not being good teammates. They are wasting their own time, and the Enchanters resources.

The example is just a tad contrived and restricted, isn't it? :)
