Please help with Gestalt Cleric/Paladin

Shielded Casting (Races of Stone):
Prereqs: Concentration 5 ranks, Combat Casting, Shield Proficiency
Benefit: As long as you have a shield ready, you do not provoke attacks of opportunity for casting spells in combat.

You definitely want Power Attack and Divine Might on your feat list.
I always love to agree with Thanee, but IT's right ;)

Extra Smiting can be combined with the funny Power Attack, but Power Attack has no limited uses per day and can always be useful to overcome... well anything.

What I mean to say: Divine Might is nice and useful, but Power Attack alone is not a useless prerequisite, it's nearly better than Divine Might.

No cure wounds spells beyond 0-level? I thought you said you were the party healer?

If you've never read Sepulchrave's story hour, you should, and follow Eadric's example by maxing out Diplomacy. Unless it's going to be all fighting, in which case ignore me.

Well, it's a character for a one-off that figures to be fairly dark and demonic - so I don't think Diplomacy will serve me that well.

On the healing side, again it's a one-off, so I'm assuming that Lay On Hands (48hp/day), the CMW wand, and the Sacred Healing feat will carry us through.

The DM has now told me that a Gestalt character gets feats for both characters for non-class tied feats, so it appears I have 4 more feats to select...I'll post a revision.

I'm considering the Divine Metamagic option since I have a bundle of more feats to select...

I assume that Favoured Soul spells are considered spontaneous, right? (Even though that word appears nowhere in the character description) I just want to rule out Quicken Spell as an option.

Persistent Spell is tantalizing, but 6 turn attempts per spell is high - I have 9 now and could easily take Extra Turning a couple of times...but I'm wondering which spells make this worth it - what all-day buffs would be compelling enough?

Persistent Spell says "fixed or personal range" - does that rule out Touch range? Because I would love to put persistent Death Ward on multiple party members.

Let's see.... Divine Metamagic, up to 4th?

Edit: Many DM's will say it rules out touch range (your touch range is variable with your size, you see.....)

Divine Power (+6 Enhancement to Strength + some small temp HP; the BAB effect won't matter for you due to the Paladin side)

Divine Favor (+1 luck bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls for every three caster levels you have (at least +1, maximum +3).)

Entropic Shield (20% miss chance for ranged stuff)

Find Traps (lets you search for traps as a Rogue, and gives an Insight bonus to searching of 1/2 your caster level.... but only useful if the Rogue is expected to bite it at some point)

Also, note that the Reach Spell metamagic feat (Complete Divine, I think) turns a touch spell into a spell with a range of 30 feet (ranged touch) technically permitting you (if you expend a 4th level spell slot and the turning attempts for the Divine metamagic) to give someone a Persistant Owl's Wisdom, Bull's Strength, Bear's Endurance, or Eagle's Splendor (as your spell list permits).

Hmm...I think I need a definition of "fixed range". I thought it referred to a static area of effect, as opposed to any spell that had a set distance limit from which you could cast it.

Rage is a defined term for spells. While I don't think the golossary has a definition of "fixed" I've usually figured that for game purposes it means "doesn't scale with level" in that particular context (e.g., Arcane Mark has Range: 0 ft, as do Clone, Flame Blade, Ironwood, Minor Creation, Phantom Steed, Phase Door, Produce Flame, Simulacrum, Summon Instrument, the Symbols (sort of), and Teleportation Circle)
