Please, please, please be more liberal with spoiler tags!

Hello everyone, just a call out to those asking about or replying to content in an adventure module or campaign that has "DM eyes only" stuff in it.

PLEASE, PLEASE use spoiler tags more often.

I have seen two threads this evening that I would have liked to have seen tags, that didn't reallly have spoiler type thread titles, but follow-up posters put very specific adventure content in the thread.
I find it amusing that a thread about inappropriate sexual references in a major publisher's adventure, child abuse, and the fact that these topics make female gamers uncomfortable generated such a thought provoking discussion...

on not including spoiler tags in posts.

Kinda sums it up, don't it?

Really? You'd rather know what's happening in an adventure before you play through it? The plot twists in a movie before you see it?

I mean, not knocking you. Your preference is your preference. It just seems odd to me.
he's the GM. plus he's fickle that way. ;)

I was the kid who would read the end of her Nancy Drew books first. Sad but true.

This assumes that the Freeport thread generated this thread. :) Not a safe assumption, since it was something I wanted to post about 4 times earlier this month, and it was the Paizo thread about Hollow's Last Hope that made me post this.

Granted, the Freeport thread had a fair amount of spoiler giveaways. And though the topic of the Freeport thread was a sensitive one, it doesn't make spoiler tags any less relevant.

I agree that sometimes spoiler tags are a pain, all that extra clicking and highlighting and such, but they exist for a reason. There are a lot of seemingly "safe" threads that have some spoilers inside.

Aaaand I think this is the point where I need to duck out of here.

(I'm roguerouge's player in that campaign and was avoiding his Freeport threads...)
