Absolutely worthless. The only thing it accomplishes is letting the SOR use Quicken, and even then its overshadowed by Epic Feats(that you'll be getting soon after AP becomes tenable).

If you use the MoAO then its nothing but a throwaway gateway feat for the class(and yet another cost on the SOR)

Doesn't there exist a counter-feat, Threaten Caster(??), that forces casters to make their checks with a modifier based on the attackers BAB?

Spellcasting Harrier adds the attackers BAB to youre Cast Defensive roll. But since you dont make a roll...... Another worthless feat, and this ones Epic.

In non-epic games, this is basically a prereq for the Mage of the Arcane Order prestige class and that's about it. It also lets sorcerors use quicken spell but I don't think I'd take it for that as a sorceror.

And in my estimation, people dramatically overestimate the disadvantage of using full round actions to cast metamagic spells. When I played a high level sorceror, I hardly even noticed that "disadvantage"; when you can apply all your metamagic feats on the fly (double empowered, energy substituted, eschewed Fireball or stilled, silenced, eschewed Detect Thoughts) who cares if it's a full round action? It's much better than guessing what you'll want to do in advance.

I agree that the cost of full round actions is overestimated. However, I think the upside of getting two of your favorite metamagicked spells off in one round, when Hasted, should count for something. The sorceror has less of an issue with guessing in advance than other classes because he has so many slots of a given level.

I don't have my books handy but IIRC, quicken doesn't apply to full-round spells. So any metamagicked sorceror spells cannot be quickened without arcane prep. (If I'm wrong, I'm a very, very happy player)

Actually (this came up two weeks ago in the campaign I run- you can read about it in my story hour if you're interested ;) ) you can quicken spells as long as their casting time is no more than a full round.

You can quicken spells as long as their casting time is no more than a full round.

But doesn't a Quickened full-round spell still take a standard action to cast?

I don't have my PHB here, and I can't find the quote in the SRD.

Well, AutoQuick won't help with your otherwise-metamagicked spells. But you can toss non-meta'ed spells as Free actions, still ...

Spellcasting Harrier. It doesn't trump Improved Combat Casting, all it does is produce a penalty to concentration checks for all spellcasters, equal to half your HD (not even BAB dependant).

Well, if that was true, then AutoQuick would be GLORIOSU for a Sorceror. It would let you eitehr get off a (free)-action spell, AND/OR, convert your metamagicked spells into Standard Action casting times. 8)

Autoquicken quickens metamagic spells to free actions if the total spell level is within the quickening range.

No one should take this feat, it shouldn't even exist or need to exist.
