Plot Hooks

As for the amulet, heck I don't know. Maybe it has no special powers, but was given to the now dead teacher by *his* teacher, long ago. The party will drive themselves crazy trying to figure out what it is, though.

I Likethat one. heh :D I like the idea. It leaves the PC open to adventure without the tutors instructions and gives a good plot hook. only problem is, I dont really want the tutor to have been hiding some important religious artifact. Perhaps, all the masters are given a copy of the book so they can perhaps complete the prophecy? Feedback and more ideas still appreciated.

Smurf, I like yours too, but this is my first time DMing and there may be a fair amount of casualties while I figure it all out.

After the game I am playing in right now I have to say that I think it helps if the players work together a head of time to give themselves some common reasons to be together. Talk a little bit see what each want to do. That way you don't end up with a party that is only together because you can't play otherwise.

As for a plot hook maybe the monk is meditating one day and has a vision of the dead monk asking for his help and giving him a clue of where to start.
