I actually would not recommend this one, since it is a mostly empty dungeon meant to be filled in by the DM. Good for nostalgia, but not the best module IMHO.
It's damn good when I fill it! ;) :p I have a soft-spot for B1 because it was the first module I ever ran (the mono-cover version came in my Holmes Basic set). I liked the map and the backstory, too. And the pool room. And the chapel with the thrones and the evil shrine (which I always pictured as similar to the horned idol scene on the 1E PHB). And the "garden room." And the magic mouths and battle aftermath at the entrance. Et cetera.

But yeah, B1 should be avoided if you don't want to fill in the monsters and treasure, yourself.

As far as B1 goes, I think it goes without saying that if you actually held on to your original copy with all the extra bits filled in with you back in the day... run it!

That makes me want to find my old Basic set with the mansion where the later levels where Bargle lived were fleshed out by me a long, long time ago. :)

Apart from that, The Lost City is an old favorite of mine. It does a great job of setting the mood and eventually sets up possibilities for lots of adventuring in a gigantic cavern holding a city and a bunch of areas to flesh out. Heck, it's even got a Lord of the Rings type campaign ending scenario built in, where the PCs take Zargoz's horn and throw it into a volcano!

but...how do u take 1st level players to the desert?
i mean, they are suppose to be in the city...any idea? (any city near a desert suggestions?)

In those days, Garin Dell needed to leave the City of the Thousand Idols for a time (rumors abounded about a certain noblemans wife, or a certain nobleman's jewels, or both...), and took service with the spice merchant, Radorb of Verithway, helping to guard a caravan bound for the City of Khairoh...

is "in search of adventures" any good to buy, as it have b1-9?

did it intend to get all togheter as one adventure?
No, it's not strung together as one adventure. Actually, although this seems like a good deal, I recommend getting the individual modules, instead. In Search of Adventure compiles them, but it also severely abridges some of them (including B4).

One thing to look out for is that B1-9 abbreviates some of the modules. For example, the coolest part of B4 (The Lost City) is all the stuff about expanding the medium-sized dungeon into a whole campaign, including a map of an underground city, etc. I am led to believe by reviews that all that stuff is missing (or most of it, anyway). I don't own B1-9 myself, though.

If you really want to roll "old school", you'll design a megadungeon for your players to begin exploring.
[*cue montage of grognards rocking out ala Beavis and Butthead at the mention of the word "megadungeon"*]

Tomb of Horrors is always fun. Might want to have a computer program on hand to mass-generate PCs, though... :p

B2 is a personal fave.
