Plz help me with a druid challenge

I run a Greyhawk game, and I have a problem:

The group, who consist of a human druid, a human thief, a dwarven wizard and a halfelf paladin, is going to be send out to face a challenge each, made by a wizard from The Horned Society (LE).

My problem is the druid, I have troble coming up with a personal challenge for him (all the characters will have a solo challenge each).

Anyone have any ideas?


The challenge should be difficult, but yet realistic and not impossible (he is level 4)

a low level adventure for a group. but a 4th lvl druid may be appropriate.

That is a good idea, but it is only supposed to be a short challenge, of maybe an hour or so

Perhaps have him 'win over' a wolf pack - the PC will have to figure out which ominous wolf is the Alpha and then woo him over to being friendly.

Or perhaps encounter a mischevious pixie or two and be patient enough to befriend it (them).

Or just pick a skill catagory you think the PC should invest more ranks in and base a challenge around it.

I would send the druid into an unfamiliar forest area and tell him that he must discover what is harming the forest or harmed in it and how that situation might be rectified. This forces the druid to use his or her mighty capacity for gathering information and some straight problem solving/role-playing depending on what you want the problem to be.

it kinda sucks that the druid won't have wildshape at that level... could make that sort of thing even more fun. But I would definitly make the challance one of creative spell and skill use rather than a kill the baddies thing. Maybe a situation where animals are being turned against a local settlement and the druid has to find the problem and eliminate it without killing any of the animals or allowing any more villagers to be killed....

Does the Druid speak Sylvan?

Any excuse to take advantage of that cool flavor adding detail should be used.

Is there a local hunting lodge that beheads animals and mounts them for sport? Maybe he can find a way to deter their efforts?
