This week on the podcast we discuss War of the Wielded, a 3.5e pathfinder adventure by Michael Kortes from dungeon magazine #149.

This adventure focuses on a longstanding conflict between two rival thieves guilds, but with a twist. The original members are long dead, but their war continues on, driven by the intelligent weapons that now control the guilds. Will your PCs end the conflict forever, or just end up being another set of pawns in this eternal war? Have a listen to hear the details. We also wander into the weeds a bit discussing the role intelligent items can play in a campaign.

This week on the podcast we discuss Against the Cult of the Reptile God, a 1e D&D adventure by Douglas Niles.

This classic adventure has the PCs investigating the strange happenings in the town of Orlane. An evil cult has infiltrated the town and the PCs must try to ferret them out and ultimately eliminate their mysterious leader. Part investigation, part dungeon crawl, this adventure is widely considered to be one of the best. Have a listen to see if we agree.

This week on the podcast we discuss Temple of Elemental Evil, a 1e D&D adventure by Gary Gygax and Frank Mentzer.

A ancient coalition of cults, once thought destroyed, rises anew. From their initial suspicions, raised as they come to know the village of Hommlet, the PCs investigations will lead them deep into the bowels of the Temple of Elemental evil. Within, they find the elemental cults consolidating power and plotting against themselves as much as against the forces of good. It's a pretty standard dungeon delve, with a few interesting features scattered throughout. Have a listen for our detailed discussion.

This week on the podcast we discuss Ghost of Mistmoor, a 2e D&D adventure by Leonard Wilson .

A down on his luck noble needs help in recovering his family's lost fortune from a long abandoned manor. Turns out that not only is the manor 'haunted' by a couple of scoundrels, but also actually haunted by the ghosts of three sisters slain during a night of madness and treachery. This one is full of interesting combat and non-combat encounters, and even an animated stuffed dragon. There's a lot to like in here!

This week on the podcast we discuss Siege of Castle Rend, a 5e D&D adventure by James J. Haeck and Matt Colville .

A simple visit to town turns into a daring rescue. If the PCs play their cards right, they can get their hands on their very own castle, and one of the party can even earn their very own knighthood. Of course, it's in the service of a thirteen-year-old boy and there's an army on the march to claim the castle for their own, but beggars can't be choosers. Have a listen to for our full analysis.

This week on the podcast we discuss Sunless Citadel, a 3e D&D adventure by Bruce Cordell.

Easily one of the best third edition adventures published, Sunless Citadel is a great module to kick off any campaign. A pretty straightforward location base dungeon crawl, this adventure does a great job of highlighting all the D&D classic tropes. Enemy tribes in conflict that can be negotiated with, clever traps, ancient rules, it has it all. Overall an excellent adventure for beginners and veterans a like.

This week on the podcast we discuss The Mud Sorcerers Tomb, a 2e D&D adventure by Mike Shel.

Inspired by such classics as the Tomb of Horrors, the Mud Sorcerers Tomb is a classic death trap dungeon. Easily dropped into any campaign, this dungeon provides a solid challenge for any group of PCs while still being fair. A solid adventure throughout and contains one of the coolest magic items ever, The Ship of Earth and Sea, which is worth stealing for any campaign. Overall solid adventure for those who enjoy a deadly dungeon crawl.

This week on the podcast we discuss White Plume Mountain, a 1e D&D adventure by Lawrence Schick.

Widely considered one of the best D&D adventures of all time, this classic module is the poster child for the Funhouse adventure. Encounters range from just plain weird to the truly bizarre, and what it lacks in coherency, it makes up in uniqueness. While not to our particular tastes, this adventure does contain some of the most iconic magic items of the genre and has a number of clever encounters that are prime candidates to be lifted out and place into a less wacky dungeon.

This week on the podcast we discuss The Forge of Fury, a 3e D&D adventure by Richard Baker.

Easily one of the best modules we've looked at. This adventure is a location based dungeon crawl set in a long abandoned dwarf hold. It has well defined sections with different monster ecology, each with a logical explanation for the separation. With interesting encounters of all stripes, it's pretty well executed, top to bottom, and to cap it all off, it has one of the best designed dragon encounters we've come across. It's a definite winner.

This week on the podcast we discuss Jacob's Well, a 2e D&D adventure by Randy Maxwell, originally published in 1993 in Dungeon Magazine #43

This one is a bit unusual, as it is designed to be run for a single adventurer. Basically, this is a D&D version of the original Alien movie and even has a fantasy chest-burster. The lone PC must co-operate with a ragtag group of NPC to track down and kill the monster before it picks them off, one by one. With a bit of tweaking, it could easily be done with a larger group, but in doing so, you probably lose out on some of the paranoia and feeling of isolation that the adventure is trying to instill. It has some tense moments and success is definitely not guaranteed. Pretty neat overall.
