Point Buy Rules

Ok, I don't have my DMG handy and I need to send someone an email with how a 28-point buy works (I have normally had everyone roll their stats before) and I'm unsure how it works. Could someone post a synopsis of the rules?

14 - 6
15 - 8
16 - 10
17 - 13
18 - 16

Pick your score, pay the points. That's it.

A way to remember it:

It cost the same number of points that the bonus of the current score, minimum of one.

13 to 14 cost one point
14 to 15 cost two points
16 to 17 cost three points
etc.

So for an 18 from an 8, it cost 1+1+1+1+1+1+2+2+3+3 = 16 points
