I selected "Evenly split" because I haven't decided.

A point in threat of being swallowed by the darkness is a great plot, and a great opportunity for PCs, be it infiltration from within or besieging from outside.

If they're teetering without the PCs, then their status really doesn't matter until the PCs come along. Because, as much as we like to think of it, if the PCs don't know about it, then there's not a lot of use for it aside from inside your head.

However, coming across a community that used to be on the map, and now isn't, is another great plot. After all, that darkness gotta come from somewhere.
