But the berserker doesn't appeal, and I rather wish it could work as dex based melee machine, too.

What do you mean by "official"? Is anything discussed on a fan forum official? I pretty much gave the scope of this in my first post. If you're thinking someone at WoTC will use this for...whatever I guess, I don't know what they'd use if for...then my answer is "probably not".
By official I did mean that it would have some intended use by people working on the game. As you note, the game has been out for a while now. The classes have not changed. We've said what we had to say many times. We'Re to the point of arguing over the same subjective elements over and over.

I was hoping that there was someone at WotC that would have eyes on what was said to give us a reason to post what we've said so many times before.

I know we've talked about most classes often. That's what discussion forums do. But I don't think we've ever had a poll for each class to gauge the overall satisfaction and feel of them. If there is, I missed it and apologize. And while I'd love for someone to at WoTC to pay attention, I know I'm not that important ;) Even if one of the members of my gaming group grew up with Jeremy Crawford and they know each other personally...

The only thing I dont like about the class (well...beside the name, I way prefer Slayer theme from AiME) is that their too resilient. I have one player who I know is about to quit my game because, even tho she built a fighter all for defense, she's often eclipsed by the barbarian in our group. With the dice being swingy like it is, even high AC tends do get hit alot: yes, the barbarian is hit more, but with the Resistance and d12 hp, all while bashing with a great weapon. The fighter has to sacrifice offense to get really high defense, while the Barbarian can have both, tho arguably only a few times a day.

other than that, this is one of the first time I loved the class, even more with the heavy armor barb and mounted barbarian from the One Ring conversion.

I've yet to see a Barbarian that is more resilient than a well-planned Eldritch Knight.

I would have hoped that a basic fighter with a plate and a shield would have at least as much resilience as the raging barbarian without having to be a ''well-planned Eldritch Knight'' spamming Shield. On paper that may be the case, but at my table, the lvl 4 fighter with chainmail and shield + defense FS is capable of mostly keep with the lvl 4 barbarian on tanking ability, but is nowhere near in terms of damages. Its most probably a problem with the fighter itself, but I still feel the barbarian a little too ''safe''. I'd like a more ''high risk, high reward'', reckless type of play.

Exemple: I'd remove the damage resistance (probably give Slash, Pierce and Bludgeon res. to the Bearbarian) from the base Rage and instead give something like this feature stolen from the Pillars of Eternity videogame: ''Carnage: When you hit a creature while raging, you can deal damage to every creature around you. The damage is equal to the number you got on the attack roll that got over the target AC.'' Ex: I roll 19 on a enemy with 14 AC (19-14=5), I deal 5 damage to every creatures around me. It forces me to wade in group of foes, far from my party with little to no defense, but the with Reckless attack and Extra Attack, the damage can be worth the risk.

I'm thinking of things like dragon breath as well as attacks on AC.

I picked "mostly", mostly because I've always preferred the idea of a barbarian going into a rage, not choosing to go into a rage.

You're always angry. You only choose when to let it out.

Hit it, boys...

Oh I can't fight this feeling any longer
And yet I'm still afraid to let it flow
What started out as anger,
Has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show

Eldritch Knights take a few levels to get going. Barbarians are powerful out of the gate, however yes when it comes to higher level combat they can get shut down (especially non-berserkers) and made ineffective.

Low - mid levels I'd take a Barbarian.
High levels I'd take an EK. Specifically crossbow expert sharpshooter.

You don't even have to wait for high levels. A human Sharpshooter is effective right out of the gate at level 1. He's probably not quite as resilient as a Barbarian at level 1, but by level 6 he's got two more ASIs under his belt, he's got Shield and Absorb Elements and Expeditious Retreat (or Find Familiar instead if that's your thing), and he's doing just fine. I dislike the Crossbow Expert cheese, but even just a regular Dex 20 Sharpshooter or Dex 18 Mobile Sharpshooter has offense competitive with a GWM Barbarian, and is generally more resilient. This trend only intensifies at high levels.
