"Gehreloth" -- all the loth, none of the yugo!

Demoloth is good, too. Yes, I plan to spell it like that.

While I use both daemon and yugoloth for that group of fiends, when it comes to the Carceri-dwelling tri-fold fiends who worship Apomps, I use gehreleth. I've always though demodand was an awful name since I first heard it; gehreleth is much better.

I looked at it this way:

The book-writing fiend in "Van Richten's Guide to Fiends" is a shaggy demodand.

The book-writing fiend in "Van Richten's Guide to Fiends" is a shator gehreleth.

The second sounds more sinister to me. (Imagine Vincent Price saying both sentences.) Therefore, "gehreleth."

N.B. I was also quite pleased with the Planescape "real names" rationale, and so IMC only clueless Primes (most of the campaign NPCs) still refer to "baatezu" as "devils."

Don't knowing that guy, I pictured Mike Myers, and the sentence ended up speaking about shaggadelic girlette.

i heard a rumor that they were going to be in the new Fiend Folio as demodands. any truth to this at all?

In the Fiend Folio preview thread, I think Demodand was mentioned. Not sure how accurate that is
