Wizard.

Because then I can play god.

And I mean real wizards (aka MUs/mages), not those sorcerer and warlock wannabes.

Oh and Wiseblood? You might have more hp, a higher BAB, the ability to use any weapon and armor you want, and possibly a boatload of feats, but I've got bear's endurance, fly, haste (I prefer 3.0...), fire shield, improved invisibility, stoneskin, time stop and plenty of spells to take special advantage of your crappy Reflex and Will saves plus a sweet selection of metamagic to pump them up nicely just for a start. What's that you say? Magic items to cover your weaknesses? I've got Mordenkainen's disjunction....

Have a nice day. :]

I said rogue, but really, I like playing rogue/wizard crosses. Something about incautious, tricky spellcasters really appeals to me. Naturally, I was in love with the spellthief character class, and I am still convinced that it is the funnest character class to play. EVER.

I'm big on trying to find clever solutions to problems, and trying to find a way to put random resources to the best use. If there were a class that, say, had a random spell list every day, and I had to find a way to use that, I would be in love with the class (my favourite spellcasting class is the Wu Jen, because the taboos can often result in quirky situations that are a lot of fun).

If you're a bragging sorcerer,
Or a dusty bookish mage,
A thief or roguish chancer,
A barbarian filled with rage,
A fighter in full armor
A ranger with two blades,
A monk who… I can't remember…
A paladin who fights crusades,
A priestly servant of a god,
A druid in a field,
Or a psion (if you're odd),
Then the time has come to yield
Your place in deeds of daring
To heroes swift and bold
Who are also kind and caring,
And modest too, I'm told.
Come now, admit you know it's true -
Try not to take it hard -
Anything that you can do
Can be done by a bard!

Aww, the poor cleric. When they came out with warlord, I left you behind. Now I'm just an inspirational fighter.

Nothing can outshine a cleric when it comes to healing though. I can see why you went to warlord instead of a battle-optimized cleric that likes to wade in and use his melee weapon.

The 4E campaign I just concluded had a healer cleric who made things very difficult for me when it came to trying to kill off the players >:(

You just can't beat a greataxe to the face. My favourite is the barbarian even though I'm not prone to making my characters rage much.

My first character ever was a barbarian. Good times...

Pretty much this!

When your capstone abilities include: reshape reality to my whims, become whatever I want (with its powers), stop time, and gate in godlings (note the "and" there, not "or")... there's just no class that compares.

Thought I'd give some more people a chance to read this thread and vote since it was on the second page today. Keep voting and letting everyone know why your class is the best!
