Do you (or would you) use your leatherbound PHB / DMG for actual play?

For all those who own the leather books - do you (or would you) use them to actually game with? Or are they just for the shelf, next to your leatherbound Shakespeare and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

I use mine to game with.

I should say that I would play, but only with a second copy. But this maybe doesn't say as much about the edition as about me - since I also have two copies of the normal, core 3.5 books, one for play and one to keep pristine. I'm funny that way. (But I don't do that with any of my other books - just the three core. Then again, those are the ones likely to get the most use anyway - especially the PHB - I ended up with four copies of the 3.0E PHB, and two of them are terribly beat up now, though at least one of those was loaned out a lot).

I didn't vote as I have not bought them "yet". I intend to wait until next year or whenever they release a complete boxed set SEPH, SEDMG, & SEMM.

In the two groups I DM and play in 3 players have the book and they use them in-game. They are really sweet books.

I keep it by my bedside for reading.

Oh, and I'm still trying to attach ribbon bookmarks (plural) on my standard editions PHB. Any Martha Stewart fans out there?

I refrained from voting as I don't own them. But, I would keep them for home use, but probably not transport them for in game use. My game use books tend to take a bit of a beating and have the pepperoni grease stains to prove it! :)

I keep mine in a hermetically sealed vault. Two big guards posted at the door and armed with big, sharp swords keep any and all interlopers away.

Actually, I don't own them, either. Alas being poor.
