I usually get at least 1 a month including pdfs, author's copies, and review copies. I occasionally splurge such as on GM's day and the ENPublishing $1 sale. My physical collection is going to spill over into a second book case soon and my electronic one is more than I think I will ever even fully read. But I've got them and I want more.

My latest aquisition was a used copy of the Bestiary of Loerem that arrived yesterday. Before that it was a number of pdfs during the GM's day sale earlier in the month.

Diaglo, just out of curiosity, where do you keep your collection? How much to you charge for tours?

Oh, and I like your sig, btw.

And, Diaglo, do you also buy .pdfs? That's one market I have stayed away from. I like the book feel. :)

When one is writing a poll, one should leave off extraneous editorializing. Otherwise, the answer that might seem most correct becomes questionable if the voter's thoughts don't match yours.

For example: "Once a year. Thats about how often something good actually comes out" What happens if the real reason you only buy once a year is that you've got a really limited budget for gaming books? What if you see lots of things you think are actually good, but you don't have spare cash?

I like the book feel, as well, but there are some serious gems to be found in the PDF market. Check out some products over there and pay close attention to the ratings and feedback. I was amazed at some of the good stuff over there than can be used in a campaign.

Heck, I just bought the Quintessential Fighter II (Love the Wrecker and the Wallsword) and Gary Gygax's Book of Names. Okay purchases. May even have to get the other books now (Q Rogue II and Gygax's Living World)

I buy about one or two books a month. I stick with pretty much WotC. Though I'll get the occasional third party book if it looks really good and has rave reviews.

I have some 1e stuff, tons of 2e stuff including all Dark Sun and Al-Qadim sourcebooks and boxed sets ever made. All the major Birthright material. The Dragonlance boxed set, TONS of FR boxed sets, some Ravenloft, almost all the Spelljammer stuff that ever came out. Almost every 3.0 and 3.5 book published by WotC. d20 Modern, Wheel of Time, etc.

Every Spycraft and SA supplement except African Alliance and Shop. Most of the SW d20 books.

And the occasional third party product like Conan, Nyambe, Dragonstar, etc.

I don't use most of it any more and my wife is pushing me to sell a lot of stuff. So I am thinking of selling some things on Ebay.

I also have a lot of HERO 5th edition stuff. But I buy that because I'm a fan. No one I know wants to play HERO. :(

I have tons of Rifts and other Palladium books. Am probably going to sell all those. I have the original Street Fighter RPG from WW and will probably try to sell that too. I have all the sourcebooks and the GM screen for it too.

I have tons of WEG Star Wars books, but I don't know if I can part with those. :)

I have cut down my purchasing a lot though. Now, I only buy WotC and that rare third party product (such as Lone Wolf d20).

I used to buy books out of control, but was always partial to sourcebooks rather than specific campaign settings. After I got what I deemed enough stuff, my buying habits dropped off considerably. Now it's whenever I make it to the FLGS or, more rarely, bought offline (only in the case of things the FLGS doesn't stock).

Does it really matter that my poll is opinion free? Would you like me to change it to reflect the sensitivity of some book publishers? But if I change it now, then I am taloring your opinion to the now supposed opinion free poll. I can't have that, cause then I am being unfair to the poeple that disagree with you. What a conundrum.

I was going to say once a year, but in the last three years that has not held true. I did the numbers and I buy about 8 books a year. Counting modules, I have purchased around two dozen books a year for the last three years.

I get a very healthy discount on pewter miniatures and paint and I still spent about $1200.00 on them in the last 15 months! Yikes! No one tell my wife ;)
