Polyhedron article on PDFs

So... industry peeps, consumers... what did you think of Jake's articles in the latest Polyhedron about electronic publishing?

There've been about 2000 page views of the Polyhedron PDF Promo Pack, and some sales related to it. Any comments on the coupon idea?

Dungeon 104 - Four page article on d20 PDFs, a cool cover for the Polyhedron section based on the "we need guns, lots of guns" scene from the Matrix (You need PDFs, Lots of PDFs)...

It's cool, yah.

The cover was very cool. I'm going to pick up the goodies later today (but I already buy alot of pdfs, so no "extra" sales there. )

Nell.

The existence of the article is probably a good thing but since I haven't seen any change in my sales it doesn't seem to have helped. It would be interesting to find out how many people first discovered RPGNow.com from the article. Perhaps we should ask James for some figures on this in a month or two.

It would have been nice to see a list of PDF publishers even if their products were not featured. Probably difficult for space reasons though.

It's too bad the sale sidebar didn't span both columns so the link text would only appear on one line.

It's too bad the article implies SVGames is the only place you can buy old TSR products.

So far, close to 40 customers have purchased from RPGnow stating that they found the site via the article in question. Not as many as I had hoped so far...

Agreed.

At the time of the article's writing, SVGames was the only place you could buy old TSR products in PDF.

Is that just based on the sales of the 11-pack cross-reffed with the customer source?

That explains the Spider Bite Games thing I guess. How long ago did you write that article 'cause they've been on RPGNow since like March at least?

I submitted the original manuscript about a week before James confided that he was getting the TSR PDFs in an email to me.

The sidebars went in a little later, after the TSR changeover, but not by long.
