Polyhedron e-publishing pack a single download?

It's one big 50 meg download (mine was a little over 48 megs). Pretty much the only things to do if that's too huge is to use a program that can resume downloads if its cut off, or instruct RPGnow to burn it onto a CD and mail the CD with it to you (I think they can do that).

Sorry John, 1 download.

But as Alzrius said, you can have it burned to CD instead of downloading it itf you have a poor connection, it costs nominally more, but gives you a more 'permanent' copy and avoids the whole download thing.

PS- as of December 1st we're pulling that promotional code, so buy it now, kiddies (pick it up on CD and have it mailed to your DM as a Christmas present)- you won't find a better deal or a collection of better product anywhere else!

You check the price for that recently? $7.00 isn't "nominal". $0.50 for a CD and label (and that's on a bad day), $0.75 for a CD mailer, and $1.60 at most for media mail rate shipping. Or really splurge and add $0.45 for delivery confirmation. Doesn't even add up to half the cost, even if you add something for the 5 minutes it takes someone to burn, label, and package the CD for shipment.

Don't mind me, I'm just venting everyone's annoyance at the countless items sold on ebay and elsewhere that were charged $6-$10 or more for shipping, and turned out to cost less than $2 to deliver...

Considering that it takes a human being to make the burn in addition to the cost of the CD and case, package/wrap the product, plus go to the post office to mail the thing, I think that $7 is quite reasonable. RPGNow is providing a service, and deserves to get paid for it.

If you're not charging double your costs for a service, you're a fool and you'll deserve it when you go out of business. Everything you do for a customer should turn a profit; otherwise you're a charity, not a business.

I had a friend with an archery shop, and one day one of his good friends came into the store and wanted to buy a bow for "cost." My friend said "Sure! Cost is bow price, plus shipping, plus a fraction of rent, plus utilities, plus taxes, plus my time...hey! that's retail price!"

Sorry, just ranting about unreal expectations...

Considering that you can fit many products on a disc, then can divide that cost by the number of products (or based on the amount of space they take), it seems pretty reasonable to me.

I was hoping that leaving it until December 1st would give subscribers around the world a chance to react. I'd be interested in hearing from subscribers when they received their copies.
