[Polyhedron] Iron Lords of Jupiter

Adventurer
"The d20 Modern Mini-Game of Planetary Adventure"

Sounds like Buck Rogers / Flash Gordon / Skylark of Space pulp space opera.

Intriguing...

If that's what it is, I'm stoked. My late, unlamented pet project (Gnomish Space Patrol*) was along similar lines, and I've always liked the genre.

*Some people may be capable of writing a d20 Modern minigame while doing their student teaching. I am not one of them.

Mixed Emotions!

YES! YES! YES!

This sounds really cool. I wonder how closely it will resemble the upcoming D20 Future (if at all)?

John Carter of Mars? FLash Gordon? HG Wells? It's all good!

NO! NO! NO!

Another game I must run. I guess I'll add it to the other 4,563 I'm planning. ;)

Thanks for the info. I can't wait to see this!

I love Polyhedron, I really do!

Retro sci-fi would be a lot of fun, if that's what it is.

Keep your cyberpunk and trenchcoats and cynicism. Give me a square-jawed hero, an art deco spaceship, and a princess in peril.

[Erik Mona will surely be along eventually to clue us in.]

Closer to Flash Gordon/John Carter, with a lot of Jack Vance (Big Planet, Tschai) and Lin Carter (tons of stuff) influence as well.

Basically, "Plantary Romance", a surprisingly underused genre/setting in gaming.

Isn't the mini game about the evil invading gythyanki hordes?

Brandon, we mini-game-o-philes always look at the "whats coming next issue" section so we can speculate (and frequently salivate) about the next minigame. The Githyanki hordes is an adventure in the upcoming issue. The minigame is coming in the following issue.

I'm pretty stoked about this one too. I cut my sci-fi teeth on John Carter of Mars when I was in grade school.

If they did this with half the creativity and energy they put into Hijinx I will . . . I don't know what I will do, but it will be spectacular and accompanied by explosions, sirens, and an orchestral fanfare.

PS: Did I mention that I am really looking forward to this one?

Well, I can't offer too many details, for the usual reasons, but I have a great love for the genre, and did my best to turn that love into die rolls and modifiers.

(It's my opinion the game title needs to be read in the tone of voice used by the narrators in movie serials..."The Iron Lords....of JUpiter!!!!")

So I take it you're the author?
