[Polyhedron] Iron Lords of Jupiter

Re: Trader and Wise One Advanced Classes

Hi Lizard,

In the Trader and Wise One Advanced Classes, the table shows that they are to have bonus feats like the others. But the bonus feat section got cut. What are the bonus feats that the Trader and the Wise One choose from?

My bad...looks like something got cut when it should have been pasted, or something. Sincere apologies.

Bonus Feat: Alertness, Attentive, Confident, Deceptive, Iron Will Renown, Trustworthy, Windfall.

Is that the bonus feat list for the trader, wise one, or both?
(I'm assuming trader, since of the Windfall feat, but I'm not sure)

Now we just need to get rid of 10 of the 20 levels and it will be perfect. :D.

Good point. Although since it's possible to qualify at 4th level, you could break with tradition and make it a 17 level class.

Y'know, you could just use the force classes as-is, as core classes.

But that begs the question how would you tweak a "jedi" class into being an Advanced class.

I have already solved the vitality point issues by saying that using the power causes subdual damage (subdual representing extreame fatigue in this case compared to brusing and the like.)

Come to think of it, I think it would be easier to have force adepts as opposed to Jedi in such a game (although if you want to have jedi running around, that's fine). Maybe introducing a sect of force adepts made up of Veth and Grolls that struggle against the Iron Lords (The Rebellion vs The Empire!) :D

Also, this has given me a great idea for my current Star Wars campaign: The PC, a bothan Jedi Consular, crash lands on a Jupiter-like planet in Wild Space, and he has to find a way to repair his ship while dealing with the natives who have no idea of the outside world. It'll only take a little modification of the advanced classes, and that would be easy. I've got my next few session ideas, thanks guys! :D

Edit: One more idea: maybe instead of White Veth starting with the Wild Talent feat, have it start with the Force Sensitive feat.

Hey Lizard, nice work. I was wondering what you felt about the art in the final product. The illustrations for the Native non-human races do not match your descriptions of them at all IMHO.

I have, as of this writing, not yet seen the final product. I probably won't end up seeing it until GenCon.

Regarding the Frank Cho "planetary romance" art I mentioned earlier, there's an Edgar Rice Burroughs category here:

("WARNING: This site contains naked pictures of women and monkeys. Viewer discretion is advised!")

Does anybody know if Tom Fowler has a web site?

I like the cover art because it's a twist on the old "muscular man in loincloth with woman grapping his leg" theme. Well done. I found that the inside art was good, too, and really helped me visualize. I like to make use of drawings and paintings in game. Christopher Trevas did a lot of art on the West End Games Star Wars RPG and I know I've seen Tom Fowler's artwork in other issues of Polyhedron (kudos for the "Princess Leia" bikini pic).

For additional art, Frank Cho ("Liberty Meadows") has a lot of Tarzan- and Barsoom-inspired black & white art on his official site that also would fit right in with Iron Lords. (Be warned, there is nudity.)
