Polymorphy any Object allows you to become An Outsider?

Does it have the same limitations as polymorph?

This spell functions like polymorph, except that it changes one object or creature into another.

That certainly hints at it, but I think the "except" part means, that there is no type limitation, but not entirely sure there.

Considering that it permits you to turn a pebble into a human (for a while, at least - one of the examples under duration)? I'd probably say go for it... but I might see-saw a little on whether it is a "class" difference (same class: +2 Duration Factor) or a "Kingdom" difference (Same Kingdom: +5 Duration Factor)
