Possible revised Bull's Strength

I like your idea of feats of strength. But isn't it quite few to have 10 max?

Do you count each melee attack to be a single feat of strength or does a full-attack count as one feat only? That would be best, so the spell basically works for 10 rounds of combat, which is probably going to mean a couple of combat before expiring (and therefore it would be better than the 3.5 version, but still not as good as the 3.0 version).

If you instead want each single melee attack in a full-attack to count as one feat of strength, I would slightly change the feats granted from CL+2 (max 10) to CL (max 20) or even CL (no max).

Now that multiple of the same mets-feat has been nix'd... why?

Because it still makes the magic items obsolete then, if you have the high duration and the same bonus (ok, at least not a higher bonus as before).

That is IMHO too much for a 2nd level spell.

But in fact, the duration is more of a problem, than the bonus.

It's also much too compliacted for my taste. I toyed with changing them to 10 mins/level but it never felt like a real problem to me.

Cool! This is similar to the compromise we set up in my games:

Casters can prepare a statboost spell in one of two ways.
1) Exactly as written in 3.5.
2) The long-term method: it lasts for 1 hour/level; however, as soon as the character makes an initiative check or a saving throw, the remaining duration drops to 1 round/level.

You use the first method when you're dungeoncrawling, or otherwise just about to enter a fight; you use the second method when you're doing research, or doing a long cross-country trek, or crafting an item, or whatever. It allows for fun noncombat uses, at the risk of pooping out on you in the middle of combat.

I've never understood that attitude. Too me, character relying on there own abilities rather than items seems like a good thing.

I totally agree with you, but that's not the trend in D&D 3rd edition... :(
