Post-Apocalypse Speculation

Victoria Rules
If the unthinkable were to happen and GenCon be forced to sink outright under the weight of its financial issues, something would spring up - probably an existing annual con. just getting bigger - to take its place as the premier gaming convention and all-around Big Show. My question is, what and where and when would it be?

Origins...good location, good time of year, previously big con in a bit of decline (perhaps thanks to Gen Con)...natural heir to the con throne.

Preferably, it'd be somewhere in Victoria.

Hell, I'd be willing to go as far as Vancouver. ;)
Unfortunately for us, it'd pretty much have to be somewhere in the midwest US, and probably sometime during the summer*. Origins is one option someone mentioned, but I had the impression it had drifted sharply away from RPGs over the last ten or so years...can anyone confirm or deny this? (and where is Origins held...is it Columbus Ohio?)

* - this is (to me) why GenCon SoCal failed - they insisted on putting it in flippin' December when a large chunk of their customer base is either in school, or writing exams, or working in retail and thus not allowed to take vacation. Had it been in a more useful time of year I'd have gone - LA is a lot closer and cheaper to get to than Indianapolis! :)

No, Chad would be a terrible place to hold a gaming convention. Trust me on this.
