My favorite genre, and the genre of my longest-running campaigns.
So you've said before. As kind of an aside, I wish more designers would write forewords for their products. I miss that.

I love Post-Apoc. I've been using a mish-mashed system that's part D&D (I made up the classes), Part d20 Modern, a large chunk of d20 Apocalypse (my favourite wotc book, I think), and some random stuff from other systems (such as the mutations from Omega World, but a bit more serious). That evovled into "THe Mutant Game", which is probably my group's favourite overall setting, although it's a pain for me to GM (mostly because the rules were all over the place, and I had a tendency to give too much away).
So, I rewrote the setting as "Scavenger", and built it all into a standard d20 Modern/D20 Apocalypse game. It's not finished yet, but I'm really looking forward to playing it.

It's a good genre. You can keep a lot of that fantasy feel (warlords, a world that's waiting to be explored, "dungeons", and all that jazz) but throw in a lot of modern viewpoints and technologies. Plus - and I think this is why I love it so much - it's very survival-oriented. Much like Dark Sun, Post-Apoc is the type of setting where you can get away with giving the PCs nothing more than a place to sleep and some food and water as a reward for an adventure. You can't really pull that off in high fantasy.
As for joining a messageboard... nah. I've got enough on my plate already. But PA rocks.
